Manager’s Message – 4.2.21

With the onset of warmer weather, we are beginning to see more activity on the lake.  As you read in our communication from yesterday, the marina is now open Saturdays from 10 to 3.  Please remember to schedule a ramp appointment if you are launching your boat.  The ramp can get pretty busy this time of year, especially after a drawdown.  An appointment will not only make your launch easier, but it will also help those who are launching after you.  Our marina hours are posted for the entire season on the website so that you will always know when the gas docks are open.

The Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held on May 18th this year.  You will be receiving the annual report in a couple of weeks.  The meeting will be held virtually again this year.  We will make sure and send details on the format and online platform well in advance so that getting connected at meeting time will be much easier for you.  My guess is that we are all more knowledgeable about online meeting platforms by now.

We are excited about our events schedule for 2021. We have two excellent sponsors who have stepped in to provide some great entertainment for you. First, Harnish Properties will be bringing you six (6) Pop-Up Friday events throughout the course of the summer.  These events were very popular last year, and we are anticipating they will be again.  Secondly, Northwest Boat Sports has stepped in to sponsor Hot August Night and our July 4th festivities.  I would personally like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to our new sponsors!  Information about this year’s events can be found on the news page of our website.

Finally, floating branches or small trees can be a problem this time of year. In a draw down year there can be even more as some submerged debris will float up as the water rises.  Please be alert when boating.  We would not want to see your boat get damaged or, worse yet, a towed rider injured.  If you spot a hazard, call and let us know.  We will retrieve it.

Please check out Mark’s article for an update on a project we completed over the winter which we feel could have positive impacts on water quality from 2021 forward. Our intent is to continue to evolve and innovate in our pursuit of better water quality.  If there is anything I can do for you, please reach out.
