County and state social distancing guidelines caused the Lake Oswego Corporation's (LOC) Board of Directors to reimagine hosted events on the lake this summer to balance entertainment and safety. In line with current orders, the LOC Board is excited to announce the arrival of "Pop-Up Friday” music, as well as the return of the 4th of July boat parade featuring the local variety band Bridgetown Get Down.

Pop-Up Friday will debut next week on June 26th at 6 pm. It will feature different types of music on the lake in rotating locations for casual entertainment. Each “pop-up” location will be revealed at 5:30 pm - 30 minutes before the music starts - by email and also on the LOC's Facebook page. The featured group for the inaugural pop up next week is the acoustic duo Cat and Moose. The plan is to host Pop-Up Friday throughout the summer, as long as those who attend respect the rules in adherence with social distancing guidelines, including:
  • No more than 10 people on a boat
  • No tying up to other boats
  • No getting off the boat
  • All boats, kayaks and paddle boards must maintain at least 6 feet social distancing

We all want this to be a success, which depends on each person present observing the rules so we don’t risk having to cancel future dates. Our hope is that Pop-Up Friday becomes a summer tradition on Oswego Lake!

On Saturday, July 4, there will be traveling music on the lake as the annual boat parade features the band Bridgetown Get Down from 12-2pm. The band will depart the LOC on the large barge at noon and travel first through Lakewood Bay before making the trip around the lake - counter-clockwise, of course!

We regret that a 4th of July fireworks is not possible this year and look forward to hosting new experiences of safe lake entertainment.

See you on the lake!
