Our Shareholder Forum is scheduled for January 28th, at the Lakewood Center. This is our opportunity to discuss plans for the upcoming year, including any special initiative and/or particular challenges we may face in 2020. It is also our opportunity to hear feedback from you in person and answer any questions you may have. That communication allows us to see a little bit of the world from your point of view. For me, it provides an important tool which allows me to do my job effectively. I hope to see you there.
We knew that the rains would eventually come. The heavy downpours we experienced last Thursday caused problems on roads and overcame storm drains. We have several trees down in the lake as well as debris from creeks and storm outfalls. If you are still using your boat, please use extreme caution as we have probably not found all the debris at this point. With heavy rains expected later this week you will want to make sure your boat is protected from the elements so that it doesn’t get swamped. It appears that most boats are out, so this message only goes to the stragglers.
2019 was an excellent year for water quality. Much of our success was due to favorable weather patterns which allowed us to keep the head gate closed until mid-summer. While it always helps to have mother nature on your side, we must glean information from each year to help guide our efforts when conditions are more challenging. Those conditions may be right around the corner.
On behalf of the entire LOC staff, I would like to send our best wishes for the upcoming Holidays. If I don’t talk to you before then, I will see you in the new year. Please note our office hours between Christmas and New Years Day. Also, please take notice of the attached blog posts from the Finance Committee and the Safety Committee.
