As August is coming to a close, it reminds me of how fortunate we are having the Lake as our backyard. This summer provided amazing weather and festivities galore. I only have a few items to mention, as I know everyone’s focus is getting the kids back to school and/ or closing out their summer vacations.
While we are not completely out of the “weeds” yet, I will go out on a limb and be the first to congratulate and thank the Lake Corp Staff for a banner year with our water quality. The “preemptive” strike, as Jeff Ward put it, in early August seems to have done the trick. The alum application was perfectly timed and planned. I would like to thank Mark Rosenkranz for his great data and strategy. Also, thanks to Gabe Winfrey and the whole operations team for their hard work on application.
Hot August nights was a success once again. The Board is already planning for next year and we have created an “Events” committee to assess HAN, the Firework show, Ski and Wake Extravaganza, and Classic Boat show. We want to ensure we bring as much value to all shareholders as possible, while keeping safety paramount. If you have suggestions on any of the events or would like to participate in planning, please email Jeff Ward. We ask for, and encourage, your time and thoughts.
Election Season - The City of Lake Oswego has a number of candidates for the open seats on City Council. The Lake Corporation is an integral part of this community and thus the board takes an active role in reaching out to all candidates and inviting them to learn more about the lake and our operation. We look forward to sharing the results from our interviews with each of the candidates.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to say congratulations to Christina Stauffer. She got married in August and we wish her all the happiness she deserves! If you get the opportunity please send along your best wishes.
